ANNA C

Anna is an Ivy parent and a veteran early childhood educator. Anna’s goal is to have a profound and lasting impact on the whole child. Anna has a strong interest in bilingual education as she spent part of her youth in Latin America and is fluent in Spanish. Anna received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami, Florida and a Master of Sciences from Emerson College, Boston, Massachusetts. Anna believes it is a school’s responsibility to stimulate a student’s sense of curiosity and looks forward to integrating some aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach to learning at The Ivy. The Reggio approach is based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery. In 2016, she was introduced to Conscious Discipline. Since then, she had the opportunity to attend various professional developments to expand her knowledge of Conscious Discipline and incorporate its strategies throughout The Ivy. Anna has always known educating youth was her true calling and is so excited to help create this very unique bilingual and play-based nursery and preschool from the ground up!

ANN C

Ann comes from a family of entrepreneurs that have successfully started up and continue to run small businesses in varying fields, from medicine to making movies. Ann is a citizen of the world who has been bilingual since birth and knows the importance of learning languages simultaneously while still young. Ann has a background in Art, Business and Education, graduating from Emory University with a major in Art History. She has held positions related to education since high school and taught overseas from 2008 through 2010. Ann is passionate about education and dedicated to teaching children critical thinking skills early on. Working in Asia, she was exposed to an educational environment that focused on learning through rote memorization. Due to this learning culture, many of her younger students had difficulty with thinking creatively. Ann finds opportunities for children to explore creatively using all their senses. She is excited to offer students the opportunity to develop practical and logical skills through STEAM with an emphasis on art integration.
